Vintage Hand Carved Asian Rosewood Masks with Bone Teeth and Eyes

Beautiful decorative Asian masks with bone teeth and eyes for unique eclectic decor.  They appear to be a male (larger) and a female (smaller) and feature intricate details with smooth curves and chisel marks on the back–notice the details on the headdresses.  Both are are laughing, showing their teeth.  They come from the estate of a military man who served in the Korean War and likely acquired the masks as souvenirs somewhere in Asia.  We’ve seen similar examples made in Hong Kong.  The larger mask measures 4 7/8″ long x 2 7/8″ at its widest point.  Overall excellent preowned vintage condition; the bone inlay is missing from the left eye.  The smaller mask measures 4.75″ long x 2 7/8″ at its widest point.  Overall excellent preowned vintage condition; there’s a small nick at the top of the right ear.  We estimate these date from the 1950s.  Great for bookshelf styling.
