Stunning pair of vintage gilded tole candle sconces, made in Italy. Each sconce is shaped like a branch with leaves. An open “flower” holds the candle socket; two closed “buds” midway and at the top of the “branch” add interest and dimension. The metal is heavy and sturdy with an aged gold finish and plenty of character; there are loops in back for hanging. Both sconces have a metal band stamped “Made in Italy,” which I believe points to the mid 1900s. Approximate dimensions are 18.5″ long x 6″ across x 5.25″ projection from wall. I estimate these date from the mid-1900s. They are in excellent preowned vintage condition structurally with age-appropriate wear and will make a wonderfully glam Old World addition to any style decor–from Rococo to Hollywood Regency to Cottage.
