Vintage Florentine-style hand painted desk organizer with two lidded compartments. It features a scroll foliate design in green, yellow and red against a sienna background with a lacquered finish. The the lids and compartments are edged in a gold metallic-look trim. Each compartment has a hasp closure, and a little padlock can be added to the bottom one. The interior is finished in black lacquer. The top compartment has a domed lid and can be used for pens, pencils and postage stamps; it measures 8.25″ side to side x 2-1/8″ front to back x 2.25″ deep, excluding the depth of the lid. The bottom compartment is also 8.25″ side to side and measures 6.25″ front to back x 2″ deep; it can be used to store stationery, greeting cards, etc. Alternatively, this makes a great keepsake box for photos, mementos, and other little treasures, or a unique jewelry box, not to mention a great shelf styling piece. Excellent used vintage condition. Props not included.
