I’ve had this green glass bowl from the 1920s in my collection for at least 40 years. This is “depression era” green glass, not uranium glass. The 2″ top border consists of etched designs by the Wheeling Decorating Company; this particular design is one of several variations called the “Wheeling Headdress.” Top and bottom edges of the band are beaded and rimmed in gold. Note that there is some minor loss of gold. The bowl has an “optic” design, i.e., the interior walls are faceted (hard to see in the photos). It measures 4 5/8″ tall x 7″ diameter at the rim x 5.5″ diameter at the base. The bowl is in very good used antique condition, with the aforementioned minor loss of gold (the flat side of the rim used to have gilding but it’s no longer there). The underside shows shelf wear consistent with age and prior use. There is a line along the underside which is a flaw in the glass, not a crack. No chips or other damage. Green glass lends a festive note to any tablescape and the etched designs and gold trim add a festive touch.
