Beautiful vintage hand painted inkwell made in Italy for Bloomingdale’s. It’s made of wood, with a bulbous shape and bun feet. The actual inkwell is a silver-color metal insert, and the inkwell surround and lid are made of what looks like copper-plated metal. The exterior is finished in a light raw sienna color and hand painted with those iconic Italian cypress trees and foliate swags and flowers. Please note that the finish has deteriorated over about half the circumference of the inkwell: the surface is dark and crackled, perhaps having gotten too close to a flame–see photos. Priced accordingly. Otherwise, it’s in good preowned vintage condition; appears to have never been used as an inkwell. It measures 4″ tall x 4.25″ in diameter. Bottom is marked “Made in Italy for Bloomingdale.” Feather not included. Shipping included for street addresses within contiguous United States.
