This sweet little vessel shaped like Aladdin’s lamp is an old infant or invalid feeder.
I did a little research to learn more and I discovered that they were often called “pap” feeders or “pap” boats. Pap is a mixture of flour and water boiled with a little milk that would be fed to babies or invalids. Other ingredients were often added such as sweeteners and even alcohol.
These feeders were used almost exclusively in Europe.
The boat shape of this little feeder was common after the mid 1800’s.
This feeder is in very nice condition. With no visible chips or cracks.
I believe the bottom
Is marked “Made in Germany” but it is very hard
To decipher.
6 1/4 inches long from spout to handle and 2 inches high.
