Two vintage seashell caskets, one extra large with domed lid and the other one very small, oval in shape. These boxes are handmade in the Philippines for export and for the tourist trade. The smaller is older, likely dates from the 1970s, and shows some wear (the fabric “hinge” holding the lid is frayed but still functions and there are breaks on a couple of the tiny seashells along the bottom edge on the back). The large box is newer, likely from the late 1990s or early 2000s and is in excellent preowned vintage condition; all the seashells appear to be present and intact. The box features a wide variety of seashells with great colors: tans, browns, purple and coral. Both boxes are lined in a synthetic velvet-type material (large in black, small in red). Great coastal or shabby cottage decor. Add to a collection; use for jewelry storage; create a seaside vignette. Dimensions:
