Vintage heavy brass crab ashtray with hinged lid and removable insert. This is a nicely detailed piece of substantial weight. The crab is very realistic. Opening the lid reveals a removable insert with two notches. For a non-smoker application, the ashtray can be used to deposit spent matches next to your favorite candle, or even as a trinket dish for very small items. Overall measurements are 7″ side to side x 4″ front to back x about 2.25″ tall. The insert measures 2-1/8″ at its widest. Excellent preowned vintage condition with some spots of tarnish consistent with age and prior use; nice aged patina; would polish to a high shine if that look is preferred. Great piece for coastal or beach house decor; add to a collection of brass marine life, or style on a shelf with similar themed items.
