This book is a very interesting part of history. Written by Hilton Rowan Helper dated 1860. He discusses the negative impacts slavery has on the southern economy. Published in 1857 but many copies were distributed during the 1860 election. It was used as a political propaganda tool. Apparently many southerners burned the book. There is discoloration and spotting on the pages, also the spine its no longer intact.
