Framed and matted print by french etcher,Leopold Flameng, titled A Convocation. The original painting was made by Sir John Gilbert in 1870. The etching is framed in a wooden frame with a thin gesso layer enhanced with an ornate gesso gold border. The frame is in a distressed state. The gesso has chipped along the edges, and the right outside upper corner of the gold band, along with the left inside upper corner of the gold band is missing. The frame is a cream color and there are spots of discoloration. A crack in the surface of the upper right hand corner. Many close-ups are provided in the gallery. I have taken the etching out of the frame and it is on a thicker paper board and there is water damage along the edges. This is covered up, for the most part, by the mat. This obviously is not perfect, but it is a beautiful etching and a very unique frame. Measures 18.75 x 15.5 inches. Oriented horizontally. Shipping is included but only within the contiguous US.
