Vintage solid brass trivet by Virginia Metalcrafters featuring the cipher “GR” for George Rex, or King George VI of England. It has four feet and the back is marked with the Virginia Metalcrafters “Betty Lamp” logo first used in 1940, the words “King George” and some other illegible text, as well as “Copyright 194. . . [illegible]. The copyright refers to the date the design was copyrighted, not the date of manufacture. King George VI died in 1952, so we tend to think the trivet dates from around that time. Virginia Metalcrafters (1895 – 2006) produced the largest number of original trivet designs of any modern manufacturer – Shipping included within contiguous United States only.

5″ side to side x 3.75″ top to bottom x 5/8″ tall; good preowned vintage condition with some discoloration, scuffs and scratches on the top surface, all consistent with previous use. Priced accordingly.
