Vintage needlepoint and petit-point picture of an English hunt scene featuring two riders on their horses and two hounds in pursuit. The scene suggests movement and anticipation. Note the faces of all the subjects are done in petit-point. Colors are vibrant reds, browns and greens. The piece is framed under glass in an antique hardwood frame with gold edging. Great addition to an English-inspired interior or anglophile gift. See below for dimensions and condition.

DIMENSIONS: Overall: 19.5″ x 16.5″ – Image: 12″ x 9.5″
CONDITION: The needlepoint had been glued by the original owner to a piece of stiff cardboard and could not be removed; unfortunately, some of the glue was showing through and the picture was off center. I had a custom mat made to center the image and cover the glue stains that were visible along the edges. Two faint ones remain, one just below the head of the horse on the left, and the other in the upper left corner. Fortunately, they blend into the needlework. See photos. The frame is antique and shows wear consistent with age. The dust cover is new.
