Vintage Cross-Stitched Bell Pull with Animals and Traditional Jacobean-Style Motifs

This fabulous 41-year-old bell pull was expertly hand crafted with cotton embroidery thread on counted cross-stitch canvas and features a Jacobean-style motif with a deer and a squirrel at the base of a tree.  The tree extends upward showcasing traditional Jacobean designs using a variety of counted cross-stitches.  The date (1982) and maker’s initials (PSF) appear just above the deer’s head.  Beautiful rich colors–greens, reds, browns–on a gold canvas with sage green velvet backing.  Nice and heavy hardware.  Interestingly, the design is executed in cross-stitches with cotton thread, while traditionally, Jacobean embroidery is more commonly done in crewel embroidery with wool yarn.  Overall dimensions are 39.5″ x 6.57″, excluding hardware; hardware is 8″ long.  See photos and ask any questions before purchasing as there are no returns.
