Stunning signed and numbered print by early twentieth century French artist, Léon Danchin. Danchin studied sculpture at the École des Beaux Art and was accepted by the Salon des Artist at the age of 16. He specialized in wild life and nature. He spent time in Bergues in the French Flanders and hunted regularly. Some of his best known work came from that time period. He realized success while he was living and his work was well received in France, Belgium, the US and England.
This is a large print. “Two Ducks Landing” is numbered 265/500. The print looks like it was framed during the middle part of the twentieth century due to the backing paper and the framer’s label. The print is set under anti-glare glass in a slightly rustic style wooden frame that has been antiqued silver. There is a little paint loss on the frame from age. There are close-up of the frame in the gallery photos. The print has not been examined outside the frame. The backing paper has a neat mid century design, but it has seen better days and has some tears and punctures. There is a wire for hanging. The framed print measures approximately 31.25 x 22.25 inches.
