Antique French “GF” Monogram Linen

A beautiful antique French finely worked sheet with the initials GF in a large stylized monogram.The top edge of the sheet is bordered in ladderwork and I believe it is a combination of cotton and linen (‘Metis”). It measures approximately 80” x 112” and it is in very good condition considering its age. The breathable qualities of these textiles makes them particularly suitable for use in extremes of temperature, since they are cool to use as a single layer of covering in summer heat, and warm in the winter months when layered with other bedlinen.
