French 18th century oil portrait on canvas that has been laid to waffle board sometime in the 1920’s. There is a stamp on back suggesting the board was laid in Sweden. The frame is of recent and not original. Overall there is some paint loss, most notable to the upper right hand side of the canvas, but can also bee see throughout. Very much in the Dutch style, moody and dramatic. Could not locate a signature.
