This small soapstone bird on stand appears to have been carved out of a single piece of stone. The stand has an Asian aesthetic. The bird is very nicely detailed, with wings, feathers and facial features easily recognizable. The stone has very nice veining. The bird measures about 3.75″ tall x 3.25″ long beak to tail. Soapstone is a soft material and there are a couple of chips, one on the tail feathers and one on one of the stand’s feet–see last photo. Neither detracts from appearance or function; priced accordingly. Great piece of bookshelf styling, dark academia, eclectic decor.
