Vintage Papier Maché Indian Wedding Box for Jewelry or Keepsakes

Vintage papier maché lacquered box from Kashmir featuring a wedding couple and attendants on the lid.  The box has an overall rectangular shape with rounded corners and domed lid.  Embellishments include geometric shapes and what appear to be Arabic characters along the bottom edge of the lid.  Colors are soft greens, blues, coral, yellow, and black.  The interior is painted black.  We estimate this box dates from the 1970s, having come from the estate of a world traveler who spent many years in North Africa, Saudi Arabia and the Indian Subcontinent.  Use it for jewelry, keepsakes, or simply as décor.  See dimensions and condition description below.
