This beautiful dark and moody portrait is a late 19th Century French oil painting done on canvas. This lady is adorned with gold jewelry as seen in her earrings, necklace and collar button. The overall condition of the painting is good. There is one tear on the lower half of the painting. Craquelure is present mostly in the face, but can be seen throughout. Typical wear for the age of the portrait is noted throughout. There is a signature located in red at the bottom left of the painting, but I could not make it out ( Possibly: W. P. R. 1875 or W. P. H. 1875)
