This large pastel drawing is by Frank Eggleston. It depicts a fishing boat and dinghy near shore across from a harbor. A man stands onboard looking to his left. The sails are limp, the sea is flat. Beautifully executed on buff artist’s paper, in soft shades of brown, yellow and blue. The entire scene conveys calm, perhaps a homecoming at day’s end. A rustic building can be seen in the distance. A dinghy rests on the beach. The drawing is mounted on cardboard and matted under a pale yellow mat. Overall measurements are 26″ x 21″; visible portion of drawing measures 19.5″ x 14.5″. Signed “Frank Eggleston.” We found a couple of other pieces (oil paintings) online by this artist; the only information available is that he was an artist at Summitville Tile Company in Summitville, OH. Very good preowned vintage condition. Ready for framing; the mat is in good condition but discolored along the bottom which won’t be visible once framed, but buyer may want to replace to own taste. Great piece of coastal decor.
