Hand-painted 3 piece gilded wall planter
Water tank with lid and spout +separate basin trough
Dijon Mustard color overall with Tarnished Gilt paint details and raised tin embellishments.
Classic Greek decorative accents: Laurel Lear Wreath, Lute and Heralds’ Trumpet plus some kind of book are still clear and charming on the water tank with a Lyre on the trough, also in great condition.
Size Minimum area needed for hanging is approx. 3 feet high X 15 inches wide X 9 inches deep Lid is 11-1/2 inches wide X 8-3/4 inches high with finial.
Spouted water tank is 17 inches high (with bottom gilt leaf finial) X 11-1/2 inches wide at opening and curvy area with spout X 8 inches deep at spout.
Bottom basin trough is 10-1/2 inches high (with bottom gilt leaf finial) X 15 inches wide X 9 inches deep
Condition: All 4 original hanging loops are present and sturdily attached. Gorgeous Patina and tole painting. Tiny pinprick rust spots on outside…some discoloration inside bottom basin. Tank and basin have been checked for leaks / basin is water-tight / Tank has a small leak at the bottom. There are a few small areas of faded paint +darkened paint, some age smudges and a couple of worn off gilt edges. EXC
Stunning European Style Decorative Planter should probably be used INDOORS to preserve painted design.
Lovely addition to a gallery wall.
Bring the garden inside and fill with ferns, trailing vine plants, antique flower pots or garden tools.
