Beautiful Print of “The Mill At Saint-Nicolas-Lez-Arras” Oil On Canvas 1874 By Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot. The print is framed in a what appears to be a linen material matting surrounded by an elegant neutral painted wood frame with hint of golden gilt along the lines. The backing is brown paper and there is a wire hanger across the back of the artwork.
**Please note that in the first picture the center of the matting is a reflection and not damage. The second photo has reflection in the trees top right corner, and the third reflection also is captured in the photo.
Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, (born July 16, 1796, Paris, France—died February 22, 1875, Paris), was a French painter, noted for his landscapes, at a time when landscapes were not yet fashionable in France. Camille Corot was passionate about painting landscapes with beautiful county buildings, like this mill, which was painted later in life; no sign of industry or railways would be seen in his paintings. He practiced plein-aire painting and is credited for both inspiring and paving the way for Impressionism.
