Beautiful newer, revival-style, electrified wall sconce. The fixture has a bronze-look with a painted faux patina. The early 21st century sconce was made in Spain. The wiring is newer on this, but it is recommended that it be checked by a licensed electrician before installation. The sconce is full of flourishes and beautiful detail but the best part, in my opinion, are the gorgeous painted glass shades. They are egg-shaped and made of clear glass with a frosty white mottled paint application. The bottom of each pendant shade is detailed with black and gold embellishments. The shades hang by three chains with small hooks that hold them in place. The sconce is heavy, weighing about 6 pounds. The metal does not attract a magnet, so I am thinking that it is a finished brass. The close-ups will show how bits of green and red paint highlights have been added to create a faux patina. I have included a number of close-ups in the gallery so you can see the details. The sconce measures about 20.5 inches long (with shades) and about 8.25 inches wide (with shades). It will stand out from the wall about 5.5 inches. Because the shades are so fragile, they will need to be shipped in a separate package. This would be beautiful in a Tudor or Spanish Revival home.
