Ornately hand-painted Swedish marriage trunk with floral motif, scripted initials, and dated circa 1814. This dowry chest features wood tone and a peachy/coral palette. On both the front and on the gently domed top, the artist has adorned the piece with Scandinavian style flowers and foliage. It contains one interior drawer with a dedicated hinged lid. Steel hardware is original to the piece, as are the side handles.
